About Lantau Island
Lantau is Hong Kong's largest island and home to the airport — but most of it is mountains, country parks and quiet coastline. Ride the Ngong Ping 360 cable car over the hills to the Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery, then continue to Tai O, a fishing village built on stilts.
Hong Kong Disneyland sits on the island's north-east shore with two themed hotels nearby. Because the airport is on Lantau, it's also a smart place for a first or last night before a flight.
