Know Before You Go
Hong Kong packs harbour views, mountain trails, island villages and some of Asia's best food into an area smaller than many capital cities. Flights land at Hong Kong International Airport on Lantau Island, about 30–45 minutes from most hotels, and the MTR, trams and ferries make it easy to get around. Macau is under an hour away by bridge or ferry. Our Know Before You Go guides cover the practical side — entry rules, weather and typhoons, money, transport and local etiquette — so you can arrive prepared.
Entry & passport
Many nationalities can visit visa-free for 14 to 180 days. Your passport should be valid for at least 1 month beyond your stay; check the Immigration Department (immd.gov.hk) for your nationality.
Weather & typhoons
October to December is the most comfortable time to visit. From about May to October, watch for typhoon signals — tours and ferries stop at Signal No. 8 and above.
Octopus & transport
Tap an Octopus card, a mobile Octopus or a contactless bank card on the MTR, buses, trams and ferries. The Airport Express reaches Central in about 24 minutes.
Money & tax
Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but carry some cash for markets and small shops. There is no sales tax; hotels add a 3% government room tax.
Macau & Shenzhen
Both are separate immigration zones — bring your passport. Macau is under an hour by bridge bus or ferry; mainland China may need a visa depending on your nationality.
Rules worth knowing
No eating or drinking inside MTR paid areas. Bringing e-cigarettes or heated tobacco into Hong Kong is banned, and smoking is not allowed in indoor public places.

About usFrequently asked questions
How do I book a hotel, tour or transfer?
Choose what you'd like, enter your dates and number of guests, then tap “Check availability on WhatsApp” or send an email enquiry. Our team confirms availability and the final price in writing, then sends a secure payment link.
Are the prices on the website final?
Prices are shown in US dollars as a guide (“from” price). Hotel rates change by date — weekends, public holidays and big events cost more — so the final price is confirmed before you pay anything.
Do I need a visa for Hong Kong?
Citizens of around 170 countries and territories can visit visa-free, for 14 to 180 days depending on nationality. Some nationalities need a visa or pre-arrival registration. Always check the Hong Kong Immigration Department website before you fly.
What's included in a holiday package?
Every package includes hotel nights with daily breakfast where stated, private airport transfers and the tours listed in the itinerary. Flights are not included, so you can use your own airline or points.
What happens if a typhoon hits during my trip?
When Typhoon Signal No. 8 or a Black Rainstorm Warning is issued, most tours, attractions and ferries close. We will reschedule affected tours where possible, or follow the supplier's refund policy.
Can I combine Hong Kong and Macau?
Yes. Our Hong Kong & Macau package includes the bridge or ferry crossing, or we can add Macau hotel nights and a day trip to any Hong Kong stay.
